Hi Everyone~ This is Kevin Lee and CSA Graphics Department Director 07-08. I am a third year arts student majoring in Japanese and minoring in Visual Arts. My major is fairly clear on what I study; however, a lot of people asked me what I study in Visual Arts. My answer is FUN stuff¡K basically I concentrate on Digital Arts (Photoshop, Audacity¡K) and Photography. Therefore, my area of study allows me to participate in graphics duties. My CSA life started last year when my friend persuaded me to join. I immediately picked graphics department as my first choice because I know I can finally use my knowledge and ¡§talent¡¨ to create graphics, which could be publicized. To me and some artists, having our work reveal to the public is very important and proud. As I got more involved in graphics I became more interested in the department; consequently I decided to run as a graphics director and here I am.
CSA Graphics Department is one of the most crucial departments in the club. Although many people sees Graphics as ¡§backstage¡¨ but in a sense we are one of the first to make events meet the public and leave impressions for the public. Why is that? Well, Graphics main objective is to create publications (posters, booklets¡K) for club events; therefore, we, posters, are the first to meet the public and the public would look at us, posters, for event information. Graphics is a department to channel our creativity and have our visual creations displayed for all the campus to see. The Graphics department is where our creativity will shine. Graphics is one of those ¡§technical knowledge¡¨ is an asset department; however, one does not have to be extreme expert in graphics software. Moreover, the Graphics Department is all about artistic, visual creativity, and freedom.
Join the Graphics Department and learn how posters, brochures and booklets for all the CSA events are made. In the Graphics department we cooperate tightly with all other departments in CSA to bring exposure to our different events and ensure the world knows about us.
